August 21, Carleton

We flew (via Quebec) to this town, in the Gaspe area of Quebec. The show was in an arena, probably usually used for hockey, and it was packed!

With people of all ages...

And one guy who seemed to think it was an outdoor concert.

Aug 22, Edmunston, N.B.

A fairly bumpy van ride brought us to Edmunston, where the show was nearly rained out when the skislope it was to be on turned very muddy.

But luck prevailed and it was a nice show for everyone.

Some of the solo sections are becoming group efforts!

August 22, St-Sauveur-des-Monts

This is the last show I'll be doing with Kevin this summer. It's been a lot of fun for me, and all the band, and this was perhaps the best show.

The weather has turned cold, and some of the audience were prepared with warm clothes.

Was that a familiar t-shirt I saw?

Kevin will be doing one more show for this tour, on Sept. 5th. As for me, I'll be hoping to tour with the band again, maybe in Spring.

August 9, Lac Megantic

This is a beautiful part of Quebec, and the festival is set up on the shore of a lovely lake.

Again there was rain before the show...

and a bit of a delay before we went on.

Kevin must have big connections in Quebec, because the rain stopped soon after he came on.

A first at all the shows I've done; Kevin called for a bass solo, and during it he picked up my camera and took shots of me on stage.

August 2, St-Jean Chrysostome

Another outdoor show. These are fun, I only wish they were back to back instead of one each week.

After soundcheck, some bandmembers and I ran over to Quebec City - not too far - for a meal at the restaurant at the Capitole Theater. It's become my very favorite place to eat, and was worth driving a while. (I may not have mentioned that back at the Quebec Festival d'Ete, we ate there daily, and after the long final day with three shows, they kindly stayed open waiting for the band and friends to arrive, after 1am. Then Pierrick gave us the best and friendliest service you can imagine.)

So, slightly stuffed, I returned to St-Jean Chrysostome for the show.

I only got one photo of the audience, and frankly I was trying to get an image of the white sign in the back - it featured "Poutine", a Quebec delicacy being sold at the show. I wonder if they'd consider serving it at the Capitole restaurant?

That is all the photos for now. Coming up soon, a show in Lac Megantic, and shows have been added in Carleton, Edmunston, and San Sauveur.

Back to my trusty Volvo for the drive back home. I've logged 5,000 miles driving in the past 30 days. No wonder I've fallen a bit behind in web updates!
