     March 15
First, at noon, there was a gathering, at the Washington Monument.

Speeches and some bands playing - the group grew in size to be quite big. Hard to estimate the numbers when the people don't fit into one area. I'd say between 100,000 and 200,000. (Nobody expects the media to get the numbers right either!)

Then there was a march, by a circuitous route, to the White House.

The assortment of signs people bring to these things is always of interest. Here are quite a few...

Was it all a dream? When I returned home to New York, I saw nothing in the Sunday paper about the demonstration. Well, it did happen, and I'm sure there will be more when the war starts - whether the news media pay attention or not.
